Q: How do we control quality?
Sampling: When sourcing products we work with an original sample if possible, when this is not possible we ensure orders are subject to approval of pre-production samples. If there is further concern about quality, we will arrange for a 3rd party inspection of the bulk production prior to shipment.
Q: Delivery times?
On average about 8 weeks from date of sample confirmation – depending on the product and time of year. Try to avoid Chinese New Year!!
Q: Will you sell to my competitors?
We will not supply the same item that you are importing to anyone else in your market for at least 12 months. We are in the business of building long term relationships with customers. That is why we work on a completely transparent basis.
Q: Minimum order quantity?
This varies between factories and product value, but around USD4000 – USD5000 per shipment.
Q: What currency is business concluded in?
Generally, in US dollars with Albany Johnson handling the paperwork and shipping. However we can offer a NZ Dollars delivered price if required.

Q: What can go wrong?
Assumptions and timings. If it was not agreed for the goods to be packed in 50’s then they may come in outers of 20’s or 100’s. Were they wrapped in paper or left loose, it is the little details that we work hard to quantify, but the assumptions are one risk. The other is the delivery time. Customs are understandably a rule to themselves and can have a great delaying capability as can the weather and war, but the shipping routes are of such economic importance, the risk is minimal in most cases.
